Court again

We got Monkey’s court paperwork in the mail yesterday. The agency is asking for a goal change to adoption, and in the paperwork they identify us as a prospective adoptive family. Court is in three weeks. We are just waiting to hear that a relative or family member has stepped up for custody. We can’t even begin to let ourselves think we might get to keep this drooly, squirmy, silly, lovey bundle of 8-month-old cuteness. This is foster care. Nothing is ever that easy. Right?
